Louise Gibbons is an independent dance artist based in the North West. She graduated from MMU Cheshire in 2010 with a First Class Honours Degree in Dance. She has facilitated dance in a variety of settings including; education (Early Years - HE), community settings, a secure unit for young offenders and health settings with Small Things Dance Collective.
Louise’s portfolio career extends to performance & choreography, working with choreographers such as; Lea Anderson, James Wilton, Filip Van Huffel (12 Degrees North) Gary Clarke & Adele Thompson (Ludus Dance Company). She has also created work for outdoor performances at RHS Flower Show and Manchester based Afro-Brazilian/Maracatu band, Juba Do Leao.
Louise is interested in Somatic practice and how it can be applied within health settings to enhance recovery and wellbeing. She has been working with Small Things since 2016, both on the performance project ‘Taking Flight’ and facilitating movement and play on the wards.
